you approach has the benefit of needing much fewer components - for the price that the formatting of the cell contents is more limited and that the columns and rows cannot have varying sizes.

So, before seeing your approach, I have left a reply to Simulated Conditional Formatting that briefly explains two other approaches that keep the flexibility of Srinivas&#039; approach with fewer Xcelsius components and fewer formulas.
