Talking about XML maps, they still haven't fixed the issue with empty values in XML feed. Xcelsius ignores empty values and data tables render out funky and some rows are ignored entirely. It is very annoying if you are using a public XML feed that you cannot modify.

@ oteT

SP1 does support multiple XML connections. It has no limitation as the Webservice. Its unfortunate that they have limited Webservice connection to be used just once.

I am downloading the SP1 version and I was wondering if it will support multiple excel XML maps.

I read from the comment above that only takes 1 web service connection... I do not use web service connections but makes me wonder if the same limitation might apply for the Excel XML maps.

Btw... you have some great articles on this blog, thanks for sharing!

Hey, Great blog!

It's great to finally see some information that explains what benefits were added in SP1. That being said I'm just wondering if you had any comments on the functionality that was lost or removed with this SP.

for example... in Excelsius 2008 there was the functionality to implement multiple web service connections. After installing SP1 it seems as though this ability has been limited to one single web service connection, after one connection is made the web service connection link is disabled. Now I know there is a work around for this but that means developing the .xlf file in a version of Excelsius that doesn’t have SP1 installed and then if there is a need for the new functionality the .xlf file must be completed in a version of Excelsius that has SP1…. Or you can just empty your wallet and purchase the server version.

Anyway, just wondering what your thoughts were on this, also… don’t forget about that great Canadian map that was added in SP1.

Regards

@Dave:

Yes that is normal. Xcelsius 2008 SP1 is a Full package. It includes Xcelsius 2008. If you have purchased the software before, make sure you use the same Keycode while installing Xcelsius 2008 SP1.
